Aditi Rao Hydari is the perfect example of the age-old saying – beauty with brains. The actress has been entertaining us at the movies and in several languages. She’s worked in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and even Malayalam films. Today in her interview with Times Of India, the actress tells us who’s her dream director who inspired her to act.
Speaking about her experience in working in so many languages and shuttling work between two industries, she said that she’s loved working with Mani Ratnam. The actress has been really fortunate to work with him twice in films Kaatru Veliyidai and Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. The actress said that despite working with some of the biggest directors down South, Mani Ratnam remains her favourite and the reason being that the director had inspired her to act in the movies. “I became an actor because of Mani sir. I didn’t know much about films or any of the industries, but I always knew that one day I wanted to be a Mani Ratnam heroine. Back then, I had no clue how or whether I’d pursue acting as a profession. One thing led to another, and I found myself signed by Sudhir Mishra for Yeh Saali Zindagi and then by Goldie and Srishti Behl for London, Paris, New York, soon after I moved to Mumbai in 2010,” said the actress to TOI.
She further added by saying, “Working with Mani sir led me on to more movies in Tamil, then Telugu, and now, I am doing Malayalam films as well. I understand both Tamil and Telugu. I’ve dubbed for my Telugu films, and hopefully, I will soon be able to do the same for my Tamil films, too.” We love this talented beauty and her love for cinema and to entertain masses nationwide.
