The coronavirus pandemic was surely not a great thing about 2020, but the situation was surely a boost for OTT platforms and it’s great content. No wonder the rise of OTT also brought several names in the forefront who amazed us with their performances. One such actor who became a household name is Pratik Gandhi of Scam 1992 fame.
Today in an interview with a leading daily, he speaks about the changing times and how audiences are now ready to see content and not just superstars. “The web has created a new (avenue) for actors like us. Now, the audience is looking for actors who can create different characters; they are no longer chasing stars. If you see the nominees in the best actor category across different award galas, you will notice that there are no (famous) last names,” said the actor.
He further adds that he’s being approached for mainstream movies and films and that the offers he has been getting post the success of Scam 1992 are phenomenal, “I am being approached for mainstream films and web series. I am being considered seriously as an actor. I have learnt through experience that nobody is interested in your struggles; they are only interested in your success.” We’re hoping to watch more of Pratik Gandhi especially on the big screen.
