Rohit Shetty’s films are always entertaining. People love his comedy films and the high-octane action sequences he brings on the big screen. Today a report on an online portal states that his next starring Ranveer Singh – Cirkus will release this December and it will be a New Year weekend.
The makers are thinking about releasing it on New Year weekend since it will be a three-day long weekend and what better than having a comedy film for the masses to mark a new year. Rohit Shetty and the producers are still in talks about it as there are several factors that need to be taken into consideration. Firstly Rohit’s last film Sooryavanshi – starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif is still in the pipeline as the film’s release was stalled due to the pandemic. Hence the makers will make sure that the filmmaker’s two releases have enough gap.
Secondly Ranveer Singh himself has two releases pending to hit the big screen. One is Kabir Khan’s ’83, the other one is YRF’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar. Both the films have said that they will ONLY have a theatrical release and if Cirkus plans for New Year weekend, they will have to properly time the release so that Ranveer’s films have enough gap. And talking about the December slot, Aamir Khan has already announced that his Laal Singh Chaddha will release during Christmas and this might hold a threat to Cirkus’ release. But as we all know in 2018 Rohit-Ranveer’s Simmba had released in December, just after a week, Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero and yet was able to pull in the crowds.
Cirkus is currently being shot in city studios, but the team will have two schedules ahead in Goa and Ooty respectively where they will shoot for some scenes and songs. Apart from Ranveer Singh, the film also stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Pooja Hegde and Varun Sharma. The film is the adaptation of Comedy of Errors, where two pairs of twin brothers are separated at birth.
