Amazon Prime’s Tandav starring Saif Ali Khan in a lead role created quite a stir both for the right as well as the wrong reasons. A complaint was filed against the series for disrespecting Hindu Gods and Goddesses.

Now according to reports in Times Of India, after the second meeting with the Ministry  of information and broadcasting on Tuesday, the makers of the web series have decided to ‘implement changes to the web series to address the concerns raised.’ This means that there will be certain cuts in the series which was originally streaming on the platform and certain scenes will be omitted now. Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar even posted an apology and a statement on his social media again, updating netizens, viewers and fans about the status on Tandav. He said, “We have the utmost respect for the sentiments of the people of our country. We did not intend to hurt or offend the sentiments of any individual, caste, community, race, religion or religious beliefs or insult or outrage any institution, political party or person, living or dead.”

He further adds, “The cast and crew have made the decision to implement changes to the web series to address the concerns raised towards the same. We thank the ministry of information and broadcasting for the guidance and support in the matter. We once again apologise if the series has unintentionally hurt anybody’s sentiments.”

Tandav stars Saif, Dimple Kapadia, Kritika Kamra, Gauhar Khan, Sarah Jane Dias and Zeeshan. This political drama opened to mixed reviews and soon after its release, the complaint was lodged in Lucknow about the show. But it looks like the makers and the OTT platform have now managed to handle the situation by taking the right measures.
